Community Resilience Hub

A safe, inclusive, and multi-purpose community space

Community kitchen and feeding ICT and digital skills
Expected Impact:: 2,000+ community members expected to access the Hub annually through various programs and services. 500+ children will benefit from the Community Kitchen, learning activities, and safe recreational spaces. 300+ youth will receive ICT and digital skills training each year, improving their employability and access to opportunities. 500+ learners will have access to a community library and study space to support their education. 200+ young people will participate in talent development, arts, sports, and leadership programs annually. 100+ community meetings, trainings, and workshops will be hosted each year, strengthening local leadership and collaboration. 50+ community volunteers and mentors will support the delivery of programs and services. A modern Community Kitchen will provide a safe and dignified space for the Chakula Mtaani Feeding Program. The Hub will also support environmental sustainability through Upishi Safi Briquettes, urban farming demonstrations, and climate resilience activities.

Collection of organic and Waste sorting and material
♻️ 18+ tonnes of organic waste targeted for recycling annually. 🔥 480 kg of briquettes targeted for weekly production (from approximately 137 kg in the early stages). 👥 7 youth and community members directly employed in production and operations. 🌍 100+ households reached with clean and affordable cooking fuel. 🌱 1 social enterprise supporting environmental conservation and community development. 🍲 100% of proceeds reinvested into community programs and enterprise growth. 🎓 50+ youth trained in briquette production, waste management, and green entrepreneurship. 🤝 10+ institutional and community demonstrations conducted to promote clean energy and nature-based solutions. 🌿 Reduced dependence on charcoal and firewood, contributing to lower carbon emissions and reduced pressure on forests. 💚 Supports the sustainability of the Chakula Mtaani Feeding Program through income generated from briquette sales.
